Paul Serene is a character portrayed by Aidan Gillen in the upcoming TV series and video game Quantum Break.

Serene is possibly an alternate universe corrupted version of the popular character CIA. The theory states that after the Plane Scene, CIA woke up inside a mysterious hospital with no recollection of what had happened except for short dreams that haunt him. He finds himself consumed by rage and hatred for the Agency he once served and will stop at nothing to get his revenge for their betrayal.
It is yet unkown why Serene wears the mask. Perhaps his experiences during Operation 98H1 taught him a lesson about the power of wearing masks.
